New Customer Booking Screen Preview

This shows the new version of Easy Bookings, with a much more streamlined and responsive user interface. This will be released towards the end of October 2011.

What you see, happens in real-time.  The customer gets an almost immediate response, with no annoying page refreshes - giving them a far better experience.  In the example above, it takes less than 20 seconds to view the grid, make a selection, add extras and confirm the booking.

The extras screen will now be shown as soon as a customer has made a selection from the grid.

I hope you like the new updates - as I mentioned above, these should be live by the end of October.

Thank you, and kind regards,

Mark

House-keeping Section Added

At the request of James from Castle Farm, we've added a "house-keepers" section.

This allows basic information about customers to be accessed by your house-keeper (if you have one), so they know who's arriving, when, and which accommodation they have booked - as well as any extras they may have booked (nb. no payment, or address information is shown).

To access it, go to Admin -> Set Housekeeping Link, and click on the Generate new key button:

This will generate 2 unique keys, linked to your ID, which you can pass on to your house-keeper, without having to give them access to the control panel.

When accessed, your house-keeper will be shown:

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions, and thanks again to James from Castle Farm for the suggestion.

New Problem Checking

Hi.

This weekend, we added some checking, so rather than just tell your customers there was a problem with the booking, we've also set it up so that you get an email advising which room and date they tried to book, but couldn't.

This is most likely down to not having rates entered for the dates your customers were trying to book.

Instead of an error page, your customers will now receive a "friendly page" advising them there was a problem, and showing your telephone number to suggest they contact you direct - meaning less lost bookings for you.

I hope this addition, helps you.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi.

We launched our new website today.  Fresher, cleaner look.  Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Hi - thank you to everyone over the last couple of days.

Although the transfer to the new server was relatively smooth, there were some issues relating to new, increased security guidelines.  It's now best practice to include at least one alpha-numeric characters (such as !<#) in passwords, to make them far more difficult to guess - for obvious reasons these days unfortunately.

Anyway, it's all done now - and I hope you find the new hardware helps to increase the speed of you and your customers experience of Easy Bookings.

I've added some other updates which I'll write about soon, such as adding VAT options, amongst other suggestions from the last survey and emails from some of you.  For now though, good night.

Updates to Easy Bookings

Hi.

Last night, I moved the databases Easy Bookings uses to their new home - a new, updated server, with loads more memory and power.

Tonight (into tomorrow), I'm uploading the files for Easy Bookings to the new server.  Following that, some testing will be done, and then on Sunday night/Monday morning, I'll be pointing the Easy Bookings system to the new server.

There are some updates, fixes, and most importantly, improved speed and page loads - so hopefully everyone using Easy Bookings, and your customers, will have an enhanced service very soon.

Kind regards,

Mark
